Products and business
No photos of the shop are on Google Maps. CTOS gives the company's registered business as retailer of electrical products and wiring contractor; we found no ST contractor registration or CIDB record under its name or phone. Brands
Listed by the brand: Philips (Philips Lighting Malaysia where-to-buy list, retail stores; two rows, as 'Elektrik Mectrades Sdn. Berhad' and 'Sdn. Bhd.'). Not on the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard or CHINT dealer lists we hold, nor on NSB Lighting's Kuala Lumpur and Selangor dealer pages, YETPlus', MAVA's, Milux's or Autonics' lists (checked October 2026).
Company
Elektrik Mectrades Sdn Berhad, 198301001395 (96628-A), incorporated 25 January 1983; registered business 'retailer of electrical products, to act as wiring contractors' (CTOS).
Online
No website or Facebook page found. The domain mectrades.com belongs to an unrelated industrial-services company abroad, and a template site at elektrikmectrades.lol uses the shop's name and address with another phone number and nothing showing it is the shop's own; we don't link either. A search-result snippet shows TEEAM's member directory once listed the company at this address; that page now returns 'not found'. The malaysiayp.com directory gives an older-looking phone (03-9221 7353) and email ([email protected]) that no other source repeats. We didn't check Shopee or Lazada.
Reviews
2.9 from 11 Google reviews (18 October 2026). The nine we could read run from 1 to 5 stars between 2018 and 2026; comments mention helpful staff and both fair and high prices, and the newest (July 2026) is a 1-star complaint about service.

What it supplies

Listed by the brand: Philips names Elektrik Mectrades at 42 Lorong Yap Hin on its Malaysian where-to-buy list (retail stores, list captured 8 October 2026). The listing supports the relationship, not stock of every Philips product.

What else we know: there are no photos of the shop on Google Maps, so we haven’t seen its shelves. CTOS gives the company’s registered business as a retailer of electrical products and a wiring contractor. We found no ST contractor registration or CIDB record under its name or phone, though.

Customers’ reviews give some idea of the range:

  • a 2019 reviewer bought an earth-leakage breaker (written “ELCB”) and MCBs;
  • a 2020 reviewer found a rare-size LED panel lamp;
  • a 2018 reviewer said staff spent a long time finding a hard-to-find item.

The 2019 reviewer also complained of being sold a cheaper brand at a premium price. Ask which brand you are getting before you pay.

None of the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard or CHINT dealer lists we hold names the shop.

We found no website or Facebook page. A site at elektrikmectrades.lol uses the shop’s name and address with template text and another phone number; nothing shows it is the shop’s own, so check details by phone. We didn’t check Shopee or Lazada.
