What it supplies
Listed by the brand: Philips names Joo Ming Electrical Sdn Bhd at No. 73, Main Street, Kepong, with this shop’s phone, on its Malaysian where-to-buy list (retail stores, list captured 8 October 2026). The listing supports the relationship, not stock of every Philips product. None of the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard, CHINT, KDK, NSB, YETPlus or Otali lists that we checked names it.
Cable: the website calls Joo Ming “one of the largest electric cable stockists in Malaysia”, supplying cable for homes, commercial buildings, industry, power plants, oil and gas and renewable energy. That is the company’s own description. Its online catalogue covers:
- copper and aluminium low- and medium-voltage power cable;
- aerial bundle (ABC) cable;
- fire-resistant and flame-retardant cable;
- control, instrumentation, telephone and solar cable;
- marine, rubber and neoprene (H07RN-F) flexible cable;
- bare conductor and overhead-line accessories.
The brands page shows logos of nine cable makers: Central Cables, DNF, Master-Tec, Mega Kabel, Olympic Cable, Sama Kabel, Tonn Cable, UMS Cable and Universal Cable. These are logos on the shop’s own site; we haven’t found a cable maker’s dealer list that names Joo Ming.
Cable cutting: Joo Ming says it cuts and coils cable in-house to the length you need. Its machine handles cable from 1 to 100 mm and drums from 600 to 2,500 mm, up to 4 to 5 tonnes. It also claims same-day delivery within the Klang Valley.
Other lines: the catalogue also lists:
- cable lugs, termination kits and joints;
- cable trunking, tray, ladder and GI and PVC conduit;
- MCBs, MCCBs and ELCBs;
- earthing and lightning-protection material;
- switches and fans.
The catalogue shows no prices: it is for enquiries. Banners over the shop advertise BSLight and AREX lighting, such as floodlights, street lights, high-bay lamps and exit signs. The company’s signs on the neighbouring units carry OPPLE Lighting, Legrand and Joven logos.
Photos from 2017 and 2018 show heaps of cable coils inside the shop, lamp racks with Philips, Ledvance and YET Plus boxes and a GE Lighting display. They also show a Honeywell time switch, a Shihlin magnetic contactor and a trunking sample board, and a 2022 photo shows a board of BN conduit fittings. These older photos show what the shop carried then, not what is in stock today.

The newest, posted on 12 October 2026 in Chinese, gives 2 stars: in Google’s translation, it says the wrong item was taken and it wasn’t very new. 1-star reviews from 2024 complain about prices, service and a short window for exchanges. A December 2022 reviewer called it one of the bigger wiring shops in the area. Check the item and the exchange terms before you leave the counter.
