Contractor side
Suruhanjaya Tenaga (the Energy Commission) lists Y.U. Electrical Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in its register of electrical contractors as a class C electrical contractor. The registration runs to March 2028. Four registered competent persons are nominated to it, including wiremen holding PW1, PW2 and PW4 certificates and a chargeman. In this system, PW2 is the wireman grade for single-phase wiring such as house wiring, and PW4 covers three-phase work.
The company’s own profile on Ricebowl says it was incorporated in the 1990s and does electrical design-and-build for industrial and commercial construction, taking projects of up to RM6 million.
Schneider drives and soft starters
Schneider Electric lists Y U as an electrical and industrial distributor on its Malaysian distributor locator. The company explains the link in its profile: after years of installing Schneider and Telemecanique Altivar variable speed drives and Altistart soft starters, it says Schneider appointed it a “Schneider Nationwide Specialised Distributorship”. A variable speed drive controls how fast a motor runs. A soft starter brings a motor up to speed gently. Schneider’s own listing doesn’t say which product lines the account covers, so ask what it can supply.
