- Products and business
- Four signboards (in a November 2023 photo by a Google Maps contributor) read 'Kedai Barangan Elektrik' (electrical goods shop): a Schneider Electric fascia, a Philips sign marked 'Pengedar Sah' (authorised dealer), a Perkunas lighting sign and a Nikkon lighting sign, all with the shop's name and business number 001867671-P. Joven 'Authorised Dealer' and Schneider displays and a Philips LED-tube display stand are at the door. Its website calls BGS an established supplier of cables, piping and general electrical components to contractors, developers and retailers, and names fire-resistant, armoured and PVC-insulated cable and heavy-duty pipes. It also advertises fast delivery of project materials (not confirmed; ask when ordering). The website's product sections cover low-voltage essentials, industrial automation components, measuring instruments, hand tools, weatherproof industrial plugs and sockets (IP MAN), lighting, switches, PVC pipe, trunking and wire-mesh tray, ceiling and exhaust fans, Joven water heaters, cable, exit signs and emergency lights, and metal boxes, with downloadable brand catalogues.
- Brands
- Listed by the brand: Philips (Philips Lighting Malaysia where-to-buy list, retail stores). Signboards: Schneider Electric, Philips, Perkunas and Nikkon; door displays: Joven ('Authorised Dealer') and Schneider. Website brand logos: cable from Fajar Cables, Mega Kabel and Southern Cable; switches from Schneider, Honeywell (MK), Mind and Crown; lighting from Philips, Toshiba, YLI, Nikkon and Perkunas; PVC pipe from Mega Hock, Fighter, Champion, Feema and Super A; trunking from U-Li; fans from KDK, Starway, Mind, Ogiku and Crown; Joven water heaters; Vitalite emergency lights; YLI metal boxes; and Kyoritsu, Sanwa, Uni-T and Pacific Radio meters. Not on the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard or CHINT lists we hold, so the other brands are advertised, not brand-listed.
- Company
- BGS Electrical Trading, business registration 200903152604 (001867671-P), commenced 4 June 2009 (CTOS: selling electrical goods); the number is printed on its signboards.

- Website bgs-electrical.com (English and Malay, updated in 2026). We found no Facebook page and didn't check Shopee or Lazada.
- Reviews
- 4.8 from 9 Google reviews (18 October 2026). Five short 5-star reviews, mostly about low prices and service, were all posted within eight minutes on one evening in September 2022, so they say little about the shop. The three later reviews (July 2023 to August 2026) are 5-star ratings without text.
- Not to be confused with
- BGS Trading Sdn Bhd (bgstrading.com.my) and BGS Electrical Enterprise, a CIDB-registered contractor in Petaling district — different businesses.

What it supplies
Listed by the brand: Philips names BGS Electrical Trading at 2719 Jalan Permata 4 on its Malaysian where-to-buy list (retail stores, list captured 8 October 2026), with the same landline as Google Maps. The shop’s Philips signboard also says Pengedar Sah (authorised dealer). The listing supports the relationship, not stock of every Philips product.
Signboards: a contributor’s November 2023 photo, pictured above, shows four signs over the shop: Schneider Electric, Philips, Perkunas and Nikkon. The three lighting signs picture LED lamps and fittings. At the door are a Joven “Authorised Dealer” display, a Schneider display and a Philips LED-tube stand. None of the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard or CHINT dealer lists we hold names the shop, so Schneider, Joven and the lighting brands are advertised.
Website: bgs-electrical.com has product sections, many with downloadable brand catalogues:
- Cable: fire-resistant, armoured and PVC-insulated cable, with logos for Fajar Cables, Mega Kabel and Southern Cable.
- Pipe and cable management: PVC pipe (Mega Hock, Fighter, Champion, Feema, Super A), U-Li trunking, wire-mesh cable tray and YLI metal boxes.
- Switches and plugs: Schneider, Honeywell (MK), Mind and Crown switches, and IP MAN weatherproof industrial plugs and sockets.
- Lighting: Philips, Toshiba, YLI, Nikkon and Perkunas, plus Vitalite exit signs and emergency lights.
- Fans and water heaters: KDK, Starway, Mind, Ogiku and Crown fans, and Joven water heaters.
- Instruments and tools: Kyoritsu, Sanwa, Uni-T and Pacific Radio meters, and hand tools.
The website also lists low-voltage essentials and industrial automation components without naming brands. Brand logos on a website show what a shop advertises, not what is in stock on a given day. The website also advertises fast delivery of project materials; we haven’t confirmed it, so ask when ordering.

Call 03-4161 3968, the number on Google Maps, the website and Philips’ list. The website’s WhatsApp button opens 016-229 7839, and its email is [email protected]. We found no Facebook page, and we didn’t check Shopee or Lazada.
The website gives Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 8:30am to 5pm, and says the shop opens on alternate Sundays, so contact it first. Google Maps gives shorter Saturday hours (8am to 3pm) and an 8am weekday start, so call before an early or Saturday-afternoon visit.
