Claims in its ads
Its August 2026 ad says the work follows Suruhanjaya Tenaga's standards. Its February 2026 flyer carries a "pakar juruelektrik bertauliah" (expert certified electrician) badge, and a flyer on its Facebook profile calls it an "electrical contractor", the category its profile uses too. These are its own statements; see Registers.
Registers
We found none of its three numbers, and not the name Embunau, in Suruhanjaya Tenaga's public registers of electrical contractors and competent persons (snapshot of 6 October 2026). That proves nothing either way: registered wiremen are listed under their own name and phone. Ask which registered wireman will test and sign off the job. CIDB's contractor register lists an EMBUNAU ENTERPRISE, grade G1, registered in Seberang Perai Tengah (Simpang Ampat is in Seberang Perai Selatan), with at least building and civil engineering categories and a different phone number (partial check, 13 October 2026). We haven't confirmed that it is this business. The banner in its Maps photo prints the registration number PG0454832-D.
Facebook groups
4 posts with 011-1178 1081, one in each of four groups, from 9 February to 28 August 2026: Pendawai Elektrik (posted as an anonymous group member) and three posted from its profile "Pendawaian Elektrik Wiring Penang/Kedah": PENDUDUK SUNGAI DURI SUNGAI BAKAP JAWI SPS PULAU PINANG; Bisnes Lumut, Manjung Setiawan, Kayan-Ipoh, KL; and Bagan Ajam, Butterworth. The same profile (61 followers on 13 October 2026) posts photos it presents as its jobs.
Reviews
Each Google Maps listing has a single 5-star review: May 2025 ("easy management", Google's translation from Malay) and October 2025 (no text).
Last seen advertising
28 August 2026 in the Facebook groups (Bagan Ajam, Butterworth). We collected Pendawai Elektrik continuously up to about 10 October 2026; the other groups only through keyword searches. Its Facebook profile also has later job posts from Juru and Simpang Ampat that we couldn't date.

What it advertises

Its first ad in our data, on 9 February 2026, offers:

  • new wiring, and wiring and installing electrical items
  • ordinary and decorative fans, fluorescent and decorative lights, water heaters and sockets
  • adding or changing sockets and switches
  • installing, changing or moving DBs and MCBs
  • tripping and other electrical faults

The flyer with that ad adds full wiring for new and existing buildings, DB boxes and power sockets, and safety testing and repairs. A 16 April ad adds ceiling plaster. Its latest ad in our data, on 28 August 2026, lists wiring for lights and fans, new and extra wiring, house rewiring and wiring faults, for old or new houses and shops.

The area its ads name has changed over the year. In February it was all of Penang plus Bandar Baharu and Kulim in Kedah and Parit Buntar in Perak; in April and July, Penang, Perak and Kedah. In August it named Sungai Bakap, Jawi, Nibong Tebal, Parit Buntar, Bandar Baharu, Simpang Ampat, Alma, Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Jaya, Sungai Dua and Tasek Gelugor, and said it covers Penang island too.

Its August ad says the work follows Suruhanjaya Tenaga’s standards. Its February flyer carries a “pakar juruelektrik bertauliah” (expert certified electrician) badge, and a flyer on its Facebook profile calls it an “electrical contractor”, the category its profile uses too. These are its own statements; see the register check below.

Prices

It doesn’t advertise prices. Its August ad offers a free quotation and site visit (“t&c”) and says prices are negotiable. For typical charges, see house wiring prices in Malaysia and upgrading a DB box.

The shop and its contacts

Its two Google Maps listings give 32, Lorong Belibis 28, Taman Tangling, 14100 Simpang Ampat, in slightly different forms. The owner’s photo on one listing shows lot 32 as a shop lot under an Embunau Enterprise banner for ironwork. Wiring work is done on site, so message before visiting. The three numbers come from different places:

  • 011-1178 1081 (call or WhatsApp) is on all its wiring ads, its Facebook profile and the “Wiring Simpang Ampat Embunau Enterprise” Maps listing.
  • 011-6995 0522 is on the second Maps listing, “Embunau enterprise”.
  • 014-343 5177 (call or WhatsApp) is on the ironwork banner.

The listings’ hours disagree: 8am–10pm daily on one, Monday 9am–7pm only on the other, and “Always open” on its Facebook profile. Each listing has one 5-star review, from May and October 2025.

Past work it has posted

Its Facebook profile, “Pendawaian Elektrik Wiring Penang/Kedah”, carries photos it presents as its jobs: new switch and socket plates, water heaters with before-and-after labels, DBs, ceiling lights and fans, and an auto gate. Its posts there mention finished wiring jobs in Juru and Simpang Ampat; we couldn’t date them. We haven’t seen any of these jobs.

Register check

We found none of its three numbers, and not the name Embunau, in Suruhanjaya Tenaga’s public registers of electrical contractors and competent persons (snapshot of 6 October 2026). That doesn’t prove the person doing the work isn’t registered: registered wiremen are listed under their own name and phone. For rewiring or DB work, ask which registered wireman will test and sign off the job. Our guide to hiring an electrician explains the check.

CIDB’s contractor register lists an EMBUNAU ENTERPRISE, grade G1, registered in Seberang Perai Tengah (Simpang Ampat is in Seberang Perai Selatan), with at least building and civil engineering categories and a different phone number (partial check, 13 October 2026). We haven’t confirmed that it is this business. CIDB registration covers construction work; it is not an electrical licence.

How active it is
