Where it is

The Google Maps listing gives 18 Jalan Tunku Kudin, Bukit Dumbar. The company’s letterhead and Facebook page give No. 18 Jalan Udini, 11700 Gelugor. The listing carries the shop’s own photos, including that letterhead, and photos of the signboard over a terrace house, so we treat the two addresses as the same premises. Confirm by phone before you go.

The shop used to be at 148 Jalan P. Ramlee. Philips’ list still gives that address, and so do older directories (with 04-281 7273 and fax 04-282 7273). A photo from a customer who reviewed the shop in 2016 shows an Inner Electrical banner with 04-281 7273 over a different building. Go to the Gelugor address, not the P. Ramlee one.

What it supplies

The signboard advertises Wiselite high-CRI LED lamps. A second banner advertises Philips EcoFit T8 LED tubes and bulbs, with prices of RM8 to RM10.50 when it was photographed (undated). Photos on its Google Maps listing show:

  • an Opple display, a Simon switch display, and orange and white conduit pipe in the forecourt
  • a Schneider Neo and Vivace switch display at the door
  • sacks of white PVC conduit fittings
  • shelves of Philips and other lamps, and a rack of tools
  • a back room stacked with boxed stock

Philips’ where-to-buy list names the company as a Philips retail store, at its old P. Ramlee address. None of the CHINT, Hager, Maxguard or Schneider dealer lists we hold names it. CIDB lists the company as a G2 contractor, but that registration has expired.

Google Maps gives Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am to 1pm, closed on Sunday. Its six Google reviews (2016–2021, 4.7 average) mention helpful people who “don’t try and cheat you”, fair prices and a boss who will negotiate. Call first to check stock.
