Products and business

Electrical shop on Jalan Pasar, between Melecops Security Solution and Perniagaan Elektrik Winkong. An undated contributor photo shows an orange Ledvance fascia reading 'Kedai Elektrik' (electrical shop) with the line 'Dimiliki oleh: Kim Siah Electric Co. Sdn. Bhd. 金城電器有限公司' and a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) reference ending 2018. Lettering in the first-floor window reads 'KDK Fans Show Room'. A customer's photos from September 2017 show the older white signboard ('Kim Siah Electric Co 金城電器有限…'), Philips bunting and a 'Philips Sold Here' sticker, stacks of boxed KDK ceiling fans (K15Y2 V-Touch, K15Z5) and a KDK ventilating-fan display with handwritten prices. They also show a KDK DC Series ceiling-fan banner (Nikko, Nikko Jr, Sensa 4 and Sensa 5), an MK Slimline Plus switch-and-socket display stand, Philips LED bulbs and downlights in a glass counter, and water heaters on the back wall. We saw no breakers or cable. A 2017 review calls it the 'best wholesale dealer of KDK'.

Brands

Listed by the brands: Philips (Philips Lighting Malaysia where-to-buy list, retail stores, under the company name and again as 'Inter Electric Co' at the same address and phone) and KDK (KDK Malaysia's dealer locator, Kuala Lumpur page). Signboards: Ledvance fascia; KDK 'Fans Show Room' lettering upstairs. Seen in a customer's 2017 photos: Philips (bunting, sticker, LED lamps), KDK fans and an MK Slimline Plus display stand. Not on the Schneider, Hager, Maxguard or CHINT lists we hold.

Company

Kim Siah Electric Co. Sdn. Bhd., 199801018413 (474542-V), incorporated 28 December 1998 in Selangor; CTOS gives its business as distributors, agents and dealers of all kinds of electrical equipment, accessories and parts. The company's head office and warehouse is at 40 Jalan Teknologi 3/1, Kota Damansara, the address on its trade-association (TEEAM) listing. That listing says the company has been a member since 1966, which is older than the 1998 company. Philips' list also has a row for 'Inter Electric Co' at No. 74 with the same phone; we didn't research that name further, so ask the shop whether it is a current trading name. Not to be confused with Kim Siah Electric Co. in Singapore (kimsiah.com.sg), a business with the same name that we found no link to.

Online

No website: the kimsiah.com.my domain handles email ([email protected] is the company's address on its TEEAM listing) but serves no site, and we found no archived copy. One web search found no Facebook page for this shop; we didn't check Shopee or Lazada. BusinessList repeats the Jalan Pasar address and phone; BizMalay the phone.

Reviews

4.3 from 6 Google reviews (18 October 2026). Five-star reviews call it the 'best wholesale dealer of KDK' (December 2017), much cheaper than other retailers (May 2019) and helpful with reasonable prices (May 2026). A one-star review from October 2018 warns that the shop will 'con you with pricing'.
