See Kwong Electric (KL), Puchong: explosion-proof and hazardous-area electrical products

See Kwong Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd supplies explosion-proof and electrical safety products for hazardous areas from 14 & 16 Jalan TPP 5/2, in the Taman Perindustrian Puchong industrial estate. It was incorporated in 1982. In its own words it is a manufacturer’s representative, importer, distributor and stockist, selling to oil and gas, refinery and manufacturing plants. It is not a general wiring-supplies shop: look here for flameproof cable glands, Ex-rated fittings and industrial fuses rather than house-wiring switches or cable.

What it supplies

The company’s website lists five product groups:

• cable glands and accessories (locknuts, earth tags, washers, shrouds)
• metric and NPT thread adaptors and reducers
• industrial fuses
• industrial plugs and sockets
• explosion-proof light fittings

It says the products carry certifications such as ATEX, IECEx, IEC and CSA, and that it keeps stock of most of them. These are the company’s own claims.

Brands it says it represents: Hawke (flameproof cable glands and enclosures), Eaton Bussmann (fuses) and Eaton Raxton, with Redapt and Capri (thread adaptors and reducers), SCAME (industrial plugs and sockets), Hubbell Killark (hazardous-area floodlights and highbays) and Legrand (time switches and weatherproof wiring accessories).

Other brands on its website: Eaton Crouse-Hinds (hazardous-area LED lighting), Appleton ATX (flameproof light fittings, enclosures, plugs and sockets, isolators and starters) and Ellis Patents (cable cleats). For conduit, cable transits, cable ties, lugs and connectors it lists O-Z Gedney, Anaconda Sealtite, Thomas & Betts, Roxtec and Burndy.

We haven’t checked these brands’ own distributor lists. The company isn’t on the Schneider Electric, Hager, Maxguard, CHINT or Philips lists we hold.

Buying

The online catalogue has 16 product pages with 310 variants. Examples include Hawke 501/453 cable glands, Eaton Bussmann 170M and NH fuse links, Eaton Crouse-Hinds HFL and HPL hazardous-area LED fittings and Scame Optima-EX sockets. Every item shows RM0.00, so prices are by quotation. Add items to the site’s quote list, or send the exact part number and quantity by WhatsApp or email; the company says it replies within 24 hours.

The website’s FAQ and sales terms say:

• Quotations are based on stock on hand, subject to prior sales.
• Delivery takes about 1 working day in the Klang Valley, 2 for the rest of Peninsular Malaysia and 3–4 for East Malaysia. GDEX handles deliveries outside the Klang Valley.
• Goods can be collected from the Puchong office.
• Orders under RM1,000 are cash and carry. Payment is by bank transfer or cheque, or cash on delivery.
• Goods sold are not returnable or exchangeable unless the invoice says otherwise.

The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia’s directory describes the company as an electrical wholesaler and retailer. The website doesn’t describe a walk-in counter, so get a quotation and arrange collection before going.

Google Maps gives Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5:30pm, closed at weekends. Google shows 1.8 from 5 reviews. The two with text, from 2018 and 2022, complain about dealing with the sales team; the other three are ratings without comments.

See Kwong Electric in Ipoh: a separately registered company

See Kwong Electric in Ipoh is an electrical supply shop with an online store, founded in 1958. It is registered separately (See Kwong Electric Co. Sdn Bhd) and has its own website (seekwong.com). Neither company’s website mentions the other, so we treat them as sharing a name without a confirmed ownership link. A BizMalay directory entry, seen only in a search-result snippet and undated, names See Kwong Electric Co. Sdn. Bhd. at this Puchong address with 03-8062 1215. We found no Google Maps listing under that name or number in October 2026 and haven’t confirmed that the number works.

Nearby: SME Electric, an industrial electrical distributor on Jalan TPP 6/3, is about 600 m away in the same industrial area. Pentapower, a low-voltage electrical components distributor in Bandar Puteri Puchong, is about 2 km away.
