Maxguard ML63-1 and ML100-1 RCCBs: order codes, 10mA and Type A options, and Malaysian prices
Maxguard’s residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs, often still called ELCBs) are the ML63-1 series, for 25–63A, and the ML100-1 for 100A. They trip on earth leakage and give no overload protection, so they always sit with MCBs. The table lists every code in Maxguard’s catalogue.
Maxguard ML63-1 and ML100-1 RCCBs
Residual-current circuit breakers offered in 25A, 40A and 63A ML63-1 variants and a 100A ML100-1 family. The manufacturer lists Type AC and Type A options; the family name alone does not identify the waveform type.

Reading the code
The code gives the rating, poles, sensitivity and type. Take E40203N:
- E40: 40A
- 2: 2-pole (4 means 4-pole)
- 03: 30mA (01 is 10mA, 10 is 100mA, 30 is 300mA)
- N: Type AC (a final A means Type A)
The ML100-1 codes start E100. This is our reading of the catalogue table, so confirm on the product.
What the catalogue says
From Maxguard’s catalogue (March 2022 edition, the one its website links to):
- Standard: IEC 61008-2-1, the standard for RCCBs that work independently of line voltage.
- Trip time: undelayed (under 100ms).
- Short-circuit rating: 10kA conditional, with a 10kA back-up fuse.
- Width: 36mm for 2-pole and 72mm for 4-pole.
- Surge withstand: rated for a 3000A 8/20µs surge without tripping, which the catalogue calls “anti nuisance tripping”.
- Warranty: 60 months (terms apply).
The options are uneven:
- 10mA: only one model, E25201N (2P 25A Type AC), for water-heater circuits. With an MCB of 25A or less, it suits heaters up to about 4.46kW under the Energy Commission’s water-heater table.
- Type A: only at 30 and 100mA, in 40 and 63A.
- ML100-1: 100A 4-pole, Type AC only.
For a Type A 10mA device from Maxguard, look at the ML32-1 RCBO instead. Our water heater guide explains the 10mA rule and the 2-pole requirement.
Prices in Malaysia
ene2u, a Malaysian online shop, lists:
| Model | Price |
|---|---|
| E25201N, 2P 25A 10mA | RM91.40 |
| ML63-1 2P 40A 30mA | RM66.60 (was RM99.20) |
| ML100-1 4P 100A 30mA | RM300 (was RM386) |
| ML100-1 4P 100A 100mA | RM285 |
| ML100-1 4P 100A 300mA | RM255.90 |
KVC, a Malaysian electrical distributor, also lists E25201N, with prices for signed-in accounts, and Maxguard RCCBs are widely sold on Shopee and Lazada. Order by the exact code, since “ELCB 25A 10mA” listings don’t always say whether a device is Type AC or Type A.
