Cablelink cable in Malaysia: a budget SIRIM house-wiring brand

Cablelink is a budget brand of single-core PVC house-wiring cable, sold by electrical and hardware shops across Malaysia and widely on Shopee and Lazada as “SIRIM cable”. It’s the kind of cable electricians mean when they contrast ordinary “SIRIM” brands with “JKR” brands such as Mega Kabel, Southern Cable and Tonn Cable.

What we know

  • It’s approved. The Energy Commission’s public listing shows CABLELINK single-core, non-sheathed PVC cable approvals for 1.5 to 25mm² (approval numbers 001702/24 to 001708/24). The product page lists them by size.
  • It’s not on JKR’s list. Cablelink isn’t among the makers on JKR’s eMAL list for PVC insulated cable.
  • The maker isn’t stated. We couldn’t find a manufacturer’s website, data sheet or published SIRIM licence. ARC Power Marketing Sdn Bhd of Sungai Buloh lists the Cablelink range (1.5–25mm², five colours); contact 03-6142 8177, [email protected]. ST also lists a separate “CL” brand, which we haven’t linked to Cablelink.

Price and opinion

In October 2026, a Cablelink roll cost about 30% less than Mega, Southern or Tonn at stores selling several brands at the same size (19–44% across sizes and stores). One wireman’s tier list put it near the top of the budget brands, below Mega, Fajar and Tonn. Some rolls are sold as about 85–90m rather than 100m, so compare the price per metre. The product page has the store-by-store comparison, and the cable category page explains how to check any brand’s approval and spot short or undersized rolls.

Where it’s sold

Sellers in October 2026 included Focus Electrical (shop site, Shopee and Lazada), Edaran Eleknas in Kuala Lumpur, Crystal Land Aircond in Johor and Excel Electrical in Seri Kembangan. A listing shows what a seller advertises, not confirmed stock.
