Himel HDB6VR and HDB3VR RCCBs: codes, the 10mA and Type A options, and Malaysian prices
Himel is one of the budget brands Malaysian wiremen fit routinely. In wiring groups it’s described as priced “di pertengahan”, about the same as Maxguard. Its residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs, often still called ELCBs) come in two series, HDB6VR and HDB3VR. Both are on JKR’s approved RCCB list. An RCCB trips on earth leakage only, so it always needs MCBs alongside it.
Himel has no Malaysian product website. Its global site at himel.com has no Malaysia page, and the Malaysian supplier, Desea Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya, doesn’t publish a catalogue online. The table therefore comes from two Malaysian sources: Himel/Desea’s list price effective 1 September 2021, a PDF hosted by the seller Kuasa Jati, and the catalogue of KVC, a Malaysian distributor, as of 8 October 2026. The two sources agree on every code that appears in both.
Himel HDB6VR and HDB3VR RCCBs (Malaysia)
Himel residual current circuit breakers sold in Malaysia: the HDB6VR series (2P and 4P, 25–100A, 10/30/100/300mA, Type AC) and the HDB3VR series, which adds three Type A 30mA codes. One 10mA rating in each series: 2P 25A Type AC. Codes from Himel/Desea's 2021 Malaysian list price and the KVC catalogue (October 2026); both series are on JKR's eMAL approved RCCB list.

Reading the code
Take HDB6VR225LC:
- HDB6VR: the series (HDB3VR is the other one)
- 2: 2-pole (4 means 4-pole)
- 25: 25A
- L: 10mA (S is 30mA, Y is 100mA, T is 300mA)
- C: Type AC (a final A means Type A)
That’s our reading. We checked it against all 38 KVC titles and every Desea description and found no conflicts, but confirm on the device before you buy.
What’s in the two series
- 10mA: one rating per series, HDB6VR225LC and HDB3VR225LC, both 2-pole 25A Type AC. That’s the Himel RCCB for a water-heater circuit. With an MCB of 25A or less, it covers heaters up to about 4.46kW under the Energy Commission’s water-heater table. We found no 10mA Himel RCCB above 25A and none in Type A.
- Type A: three HDB3VR codes, all 30mA: HDB3VR240SA (2P 40A), HDB3VR263SA (2P 63A) and HDB3VR440SA (4P 40A). All HDB6VR codes are Type AC, which Desea’s list calls “AC-Type”.
- 30, 100 and 300mA: 2P at 40 and 63A and 4P at 40, 63 and 100A in both series. HDB3VR adds 2P 25A at 30 and 100mA and a 2P 100A 100mA.
We found no Malaysian datasheet for either series, so this page doesn’t state the standard part (whether the device is IEC 61008-2-1 voltage-independent), the width or the conditional short-circuit rating. Ask the supplier for the datasheet if your installer needs them.
JKR approval
Both HDB6VR and HDB3VR are approved RCCB models on JKR’s Electrical Material Approved List (eMAL) for government projects. The supplier is Desea Sdn Bhd, and the country of manufacture is recorded as China. eMAL approval doesn’t certify every code a brand sells, and it isn’t the ST-SIRIM label that RCCBs for homes must carry. Check the label on the unit.

Elsewhere, E.Estore in Selangor listed the HDB6VR 2P 25A 10mA at RM50. Most 2P 40A 100mA listings were RM36–62, for example Electrical Doctor in Johor at RM39.10, Save OS in Penang at RM40 and HK Online in Perak at RM44. For Type A, Sanwel Electric in Kelantan listed “Himel RCCB Type A” at RM100–143 and King Power in Kedah at RM98–145. The three Type A codes KVC lists are 2P 40A, 2P 63A and 4P 40A, so check the code on any “63A 4P Type A” listing.
For comparison, Desea’s 2021 dealer list price for HDB6VR225LC was RM139. Shop prices in 2026 are far below that old list.

Order by the full code. “Himel ELCB 40A” could be either series, any of four sensitivities, and AC or A. For a water heater, the Himel RCBO alternative is the HDB9PLE.
