Schneider Acti9 Vigi iC60 add-on blocks in Malaysia: turning an iC60 MCB into an RCBO, and the 10mA option

A Vigi iC60 block is an earth-leakage module that fits alongside an Acti9 iC60 MCB. Together they work like an RCBO: the MCB handles overload and short circuit, and the Vigi block adds leakage protection. Schneider Malaysia’s descriptions say the blocks “can be combined with iC60 or Acti9 Reflex iC60”.

For Malaysian homes, the interesting one is A9V10225, a 2-pole, 25A, 10mA block. Schneider Malaysia describes it as using “voltage independent technology”. Fitted to a 2-pole iC60, it gives a combination that is 2-pole, voltage-independent and 10mA. Careful electricians ask for those three things on water-heater circuits. Among RCBO-type options on Schneider’s Malaysian lists, whether a single device or an MCB plus block, it’s the only one whose pages state all three. The 2-pole 10mA RCCBs don’t state whether they’re voltage-dependent.

What Schneider Malaysia lists

As of 6 October 2026, Schneider Malaysia’s Vigi iC60 list has 48 blocks:

• Poles: 2P, 3P and 4P.
• Ratings: 25, 40 and 63A.
• Sensitivities:
  • 10mA: one block, A9V10225 (2P 25A, Type AC);
  • 30mA: Types AC, A and SI;
  • 100mA, 300mA, 500mA and 1000mA, some of them selective (time-delayed, for upstream use).

The table above shows the 2-pole 10mA and 30mA blocks. Pair a block with an MCB rated no higher than the block. That’s consistent with the Energy Commission’s domestic guideline, which says an RCD’s rating must be at least that of the nearest breaker upstream. Confirm the exact pairing with the supplier. One 25A 30mA block, A9V01225, is rated for 110–130V AC, not Malaysian 230V circuits.

From the five Malaysian product pages we checked (A9V10225, A9V41225, A9V51225, A9V61225, A9V44263):

• the blocks are rated to IEC/EN 61009-1 and described as voltage independent;
• four of the five we checked mention a red VisiTrip fault indicator on the front.

Schneider’s own data has some inconsistencies to be aware of:

• Rated current: the descriptions for A9V41225, A9V51225 and A9V61225 say “rated current is 63A”, although their codes and list entries say 25A.
• Type: A9V61225 is described as “A-SI” while the list says “SI”.
• Width: the 25A pages give three 9mm modules but a 63mm width, and A9V44263 gives four modules but 72mm.

10mA routes compared on price

Schneider Malaysia’s August 2021 price list, hosted by a Malaysian seller, gives list prices for most of the devices that make up a 10mA water-heater circuit at 25A. These are 2021 list prices in RM, before trade discounts, so treat them as a guide to the relative cost of each route, not as today’s shop prices.

The Vigi route costs about five times as much as the Easy9 RCBO. It buys a 2-pole combination that Schneider describes as voltage independent, but it gives up Type A, since the only 10mA block is Type AC. The Easy9 RCBO is Type A but 1P+N, and its datasheet cites the voltage-dependent standard. The two RCCB routes are 2-pole; Schneider Malaysia’s pages don’t state whether those RCCBs are voltage-dependent. The RCCB routes could also use a cheaper 1-pole MCB, as the Energy Commission’s water-heater diagram shows a 1-pole MCB with a 2-pole RCD. That widens the Vigi premium further, since its block must match a 2-pole iC60. At 25A, all of these suit heaters up to about 4.46kW under the Energy Commission’s water-heater guideline. Our water heater guide explains the trade-offs. A9R20225 (Type A) isn’t in the 2021 list. EZ9R26225 appears only in its body table, at the pre-revision price of RM239.60, not in the revised index.

Where to find them

• KVC, a Malaysian electrical distributor, lists A9V10225 (per its search-result entry), with prices for signed-in accounts.
• eezee, a Malaysian industrial marketplace, lists A9V10225, though its title calls it “1P+N”, while Schneider rates it 2P. It also lists other blocks such as A9V51225.

Order by exact code, and make sure the block’s pole count matches the iC60 it will be fitted to.
