Schneider Easy9 MCBs in Malaysia: reading the code and ordering one

If you’re replacing a Schneider Easy9 MCB and need the same part again, the order code is what you match. Easy9 is Schneider Electric’s compact DIN-rail miniature circuit breaker: the device that cuts a circuit on overload or a short. It comes in three breaking-capacity versions with different order codes, so the code is where you start.

Reading the reference

Take EZ9F56132, a 1-pole 32 A part:

  • EZ9F56 is the breaking-capacity line, here 6 kA
  • 1 is the pole count: 1 is 1P, 2 is 2P, 3 is 3P, 4 is 4P
  • 32 is the amperage in amps, written as two digits

So EZ9F56106 is 1-pole 6 A, EZ9F56216 is 2-pole 16 A, and EZ9F56332 is 3-pole 32 A. The amperage is always two digits, which is why 6 A comes out as 06 and not 6. A 2-pole 63 A part is EZ9F56263.

The other two lines follow the same pattern with their own prefix: EZ9F34 for 4.5 kA and EZ9F51 for 10 kA. So EZ9F34116 is a 4.5 kA 1-pole 16 A breaker and EZ9F51116 the 10 kA one. We checked this reading against all 75 codes on Schneider Malaysia’s list; it’s our reading of the codes, not Schneider’s own decoding.

The pole digit is easy to skim past. EZ9F56232 and EZ9F56132 differ by a single character, yet one is a 2-pole part and the other is 1-pole. Read the whole code, not just the last four digits.

What Schneider Malaysia lists

As of 6 October 2026, Schneider Malaysia’s product list for the Easy9 MCB range has 75 references, all C curve:

The nine ratings are 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 A. That gives 28 references in the 4.5 kA line, 27 in the 6 kA line and 20 in the 10 kA line. Schneider’s range page opens on the 4.5 kA line, so the 6 kA and 10 kA parts only show up once you change its filter.

What isn’t on the list matters too. There’s no B or D curve and no 1P+N Easy9 MCB on the list, and the only 4-pole part on it is the 4.5 kA 63 A EZ9F34463. The 10 kA line has no 25 A or 50 A rating, and no 3-pole 6 A. If a board design needs one of these, Schneider’s Acti9 iC60 list has B, C and D curves, 1P+N and 4P versions.

Schneider Easy9 MCBs

Compact DIN-rail miniature circuit breakers from Schneider Electric's Easy9 series for residential and small commercial boards. As of 6 October 2026, Schneider Malaysia's Easy9 MCB list has 75 references in three breaking-capacity sub-lines — 4500 A (EZ9F34, 28 refs), 6000 A (EZ9F56, 27) and 10000 A (EZ9F51, 20) — all C curve, in 1P, 2P and 3P plus one 4P part. Every listed code reads sub-line prefix + pole digit + two-digit amperage. All 75 are shown below.

Which breaking capacity

Breaking capacity is the largest fault current the breaker can interrupt safely. Schneider rates each Easy9 line under IEC 60898-1, the household MCB standard: 4500 A, 6000 A or 10000 A. The rating has to be at least the fault current available where the breaker is installed, so your electrician or the board designer should set it. When you replace a breaker, match the existing line unless they tell you otherwise.

Check which rating a figure refers to. The two 4.5 kA pages we checked also state 25 kA at 24–48 V DC under IEC 60947-2, a separate DC rating, not a higher AC one. And on a few 6 kA pages (EZ9F56225, EZ9F56250) Schneider’s description text says 10000 A while the title and code say 6000 A. Go by the code.

The higher lines cost more. Schneider Malaysia’s August 2021 price list, before trade discounts, gives:

What C curve means

Every Easy9 MCB on the Malaysian list is C curve. The letter describes only the instantaneous magnetic trip band. On the 1-pole 32 A datasheet we read, Schneider puts that band at 5 to 10 times the rated current, so a large fault current in that range trips the breaker straight away. The thermal side handles sustained overload. The letter names a trip threshold, not a general speed ranking, so it’s not a “C is slower than B” question.

On that same 1-pole 32 A part (EZ9F56132), Schneider lists 6000 A breaking capacity at 230 V, 6 kA service breaking capacity, a 500 V insulation rating and IEC 60898-1 as the standard. Those figures belong to that reference; other ratings carry their own. On the product pages we checked, each pole is 18 mm wide (two 9 mm pitches): 18 mm for 1P, 36 mm for 2P, 54 mm for 3P and 72 mm for 4P.

Codes you may see that aren’t on the list

Schneider Malaysia has product pages for a few Easy9 MCB codes that aren’t on the range’s current list:

  • EZ9F26106, a 1-pole 6 A B curve breaker, marked discontinued on 1 July 2019; Schneider’s page says it “has not been replaced”.
  • EZ9F56432 and EZ9F56463, 4-pole 32 A and 63 A at 6 kA.
  • EZ9F51306, a 3-pole 6 A at 10 kA. It was on Schneider’s 2021 price list, and Plus Power’s 10 kA page still lists it.

We haven’t confirmed whether the last three are still supplied. If you hold one of these breakers, ask the seller for that exact code; if it isn’t available, the electrician can pick the nearest listed equivalent.

Which combinations sellers advertise

Seller pages list a subset of Schneider’s list, and they differ. For the 6 kA line:

Plus Power’s 2-pole options stop at 40 A while Chin Chun lists the 63 A part, and neither page lists the 2-pole or 3-pole 25 A codes that are on Schneider’s list. A code missing from one page may still be orderable, so ask.

Where to buy one

Two Selangor sellers advertise the family with exact references and work on enquiry rather than checkout, which suits a single-part order.

Chin Chun Hardware in Selangor lists 18 Easy9 MCBs by reference, all from the 6 kA line, and each item is a WhatsApp enquiry. The page is useful as a reference list: if your code appears there, you have the number to ask for.

Plus Power Solution in Bandar Bukit Puchong splits the 4.5 kA, 6 kA and 10 kA lines onto separate pages, which makes the capacity line easier to sort. The pages list selectable references (23 codes for 6 kA, 11 for 10 kA, 4 for 4.5 kA), so you can see whether a code is offered before messaging. It also runs on enquiry; its store profile has the contacts and hours.
