Schneider Electric distributors in Malaysia: the electrical and APC channels

Schneider Electric sells in Malaysia through more than one network, and which one you call depends on what you’re buying. Electrical and industrial distributors handle breakers, distribution boards, motor control, automation and metering. APC’s IT power products — UPS systems, rack power, enclosures — move through IT wholesalers on a different list entirely. This page lists the businesses Schneider names in each, arranged by state.

What’s covered here. The tables below list 45 electrical and industrial accounts — 39 from Schneider’s dedicated Malaysian electrical distributor locator plus six more classified as distributors in its all-authorized-partners listing — followed by the 16 branch entries of the three APC wholesale distributors. Schneider’s all-partners directory carries hundreds of records, but most are retailers and integrators rather than distributors, so they aren’t listed here, and neither are the online retailers covered elsewhere on this site. Being named means Schneider lists the business as carrying its products. It doesn’t mean every branch stocks everything, sells to walk-in customers, or prices the same as the next one.

Locations below are city-level. A few of these businesses have moved or list multiple premises, so confirm the current visiting address with the company before you travel.

Electrical and industrial distributors

Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor

Two of these are worth a closer look. Exerlon Power is a low-voltage and control-component wholesaler whose head office is now at Sungai Buloh, with branches in Johor, Ipoh and Penang; Schneider’s locator still carries the older Bandar Menjalara, Kepong entry. Cima Wholesale’s manufacturer entry sits at Subang Jaya, but that address is a Cima Lighting showroom that has closed; the company now operates from its Kajang head office (03-8691 3868). ACS Concept, Penta Engineering and VSD Team have also moved from the addresses Schneider still carries: ACS to Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Penta within Puchong, and VSD Team to Taman Puncak Jalil, Seri Kembangan.

Penang and Perak

Sciengate Automation and Super Q (Penang) are both in Penang, not Pahang, whatever the locator’s region field says. IMS Motionet and Farg Engineering have both moved from the addresses still carried on the old locator entries. IMS Motionet’s own site gives a Simpang Ampat head office, and Farg Engineering now operates from Jalan Oren, Butterworth, in the same building and on the same 04-320 0777 number as Hexmatic. Treat the company as the reliable source for where it operates today.

Johor

Maydenki is worth a call when a job needs engineering as well as supply — it does power-quality monitoring, power-factor correction and Schneider drive servicing alongside component sales. The Johor Jaya electrical suppliers guide covers the local counters in more detail.

One practical correction for Synoview: Schneider’s locator carries the Kulai account but with the 07-355 3121 phone number, which belongs to the company’s Johor Jaya shop. Synoview’s older website gives the Kulai office 07-663 2518, but the Kulai unit is now signed for another business and we couldn’t confirm the office is still open, so call the Johor Jaya shop first. The company describes itself as an official Schneider distributor for low-voltage products, automation and PLCs in Johor Bahru.

Melaka

Combi Master Drives is an industrial electrical distributor and stockist that has traded since 2003, supplying electric motors, gear reducers, frequency inverters, soft starters and power-transmission parts, with several branches nationally. Schneider’s locator lists it at a Melaka address that mixes the old Batu Berendam industrial estate with the Krubong postcode; the company’s own site gives the current Krubong premises.

Sabah and Sarawak

Borneo’s coverage runs largely through one long-established trading group plus a handful of independents.

Seven of these accounts are Pansar branches, spread across Sabah and Sarawak. Where Schneider gives a mobile or an older number, the table also shows the branch landline from Pansar’s own site and Google Maps. The Lahad Datu branch has moved to Jalan Tengah Nipah, and it’s unclear whether it still sells electrical goods, so call before visiting. Teknik Matrix’s only Maps listing is a building in Inanam that it shares with an air-conditioning business, and each source gives it a different phone; call first. That’s the extent of what this manufacturer list covers — a corporate group may have other branches, but they aren’t part of this account set.

APC wholesale distributors

APC sells through IT distribution rather than electrical counters. Three companies carry the line nationally, with 16 branch entries between them:

Several of these share cities, and the branch labels in Schneider’s APC directory don’t all line up with where the companies are actually headquartered or where their sales teams sit. Treat the entry as “this wholesale company has a presence here”, not as a confirmed sales counter. For what the APC models actually do — and why “Easy UPS” isn’t automatically an on-line product — see the Schneider brand article.

Choosing a channel

If you’re buying breakers, boards, contactors, drives, PLCs or metering, you want an electrical or industrial distributor, and for automation-heavy work, the industrial-automation partner network is often the better first stop. Between the electrical accounts, they’re not interchangeable: Combi Master Drives specialises in motors, drives and power transmission, and a full counter such as Genuine Electric or Synoview spans protection gear and boards. Naming the exact part number when you call gets you a much faster answer, because the reference identifies the exact model.

If you’re buying UPS systems, rack power or enclosures, the APC wholesale chain is where your IT supplier or integrator buys from. For what the APC models actually do, and how the families differ, the Schneider brand article is the better starting point.
